In this track, the student travels abroad to conduct research in an international destination, in either one of the top 100 university or a research institution (subject to approval), and could accompany a KFUPM faculty member or by himself/herself. The student has to be a high achiever at KFUPM, and must be willing to cover part of the expenses during this research opportunity. The project undertaken is student-driven with the endorsement of the host adviser at the international destination, and a final report is expected, preferably with a journal or conference publication. The student will receive roundtrip tickets, a certificate, recognition in their academic transcript, and 2,000SR per month to supplement their living expenses.
Undergraduate students, sophomore and above, GPA>3.5, advisor endorsement
No course, no credit, appears in academic transcript, cannot be repeated
Final Report in a journal paper format, publication (conference or journal) is encouraged, participation in the program EXPO (Poster or Oral)
Round-ticket, certificate, SAR 2000/month covering all other expenses.

Student can apply based on opportunity. Students have the choice to secure opportunity directly with top 100 university or join KFUPM faculty through the outbound program.
